In 1966 Srila Prabhupada founded a movement aimed at raising consciousness on all fronts, and soon afterwards a cookbook was written based on some of his teachings, entitled “The Higher Taste.” For decades this book has been sold in the tens of thousands, and has changed the lives of many, helping people understand how to cook not only for the taste but for the soul and physical health as well. From the book and Srila Prabhupada’s inspiration hundreds of successful Govindas restaurants have emerged across the world, sharing a common thread in our quest to understand higher principles of living, starting in the kitchen.
